Ministry Outreach Team

Ministry Outreach Team

Our residents want to give back to the community and assist their neighbors in any way they can. The Ministry Outreach Team is comprised of our residents who clean the neighborhood, assist the homeless, help the infirm and elderly while treating everyone with love, honor and respect. We feel this ministry is vital in the rehabilitation and transformation of our clients, while improving our surroundings. We know that if one "gets out of himself", then he begins to grow and break free of the bondage of his own problems. Love is our underlying theme. God is love and we live our lives by the words our Lord Jesus Christ gave us:

  1. “You shall love the Lord your God with your whole heart, with your whole soul, and with all your mind.” Matthew 22:37
  2. “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Matthew 22:39

We practice Jesus' teachings in all aspects of our lives. Here, on North Main, there is a lot of trash blowing around. We feel cleanliness is next to Godliness and pick up trash daily. Now that isn't to say it doesn't get cluttered again by the end of the day, but all we can do is pick up again and thank God for the opportunity to serve Him and our neighbors. Community service is an important part of rehabilitation. Most offenders have not experienced the true joy of giving, but when they do, they are transformed by the love of God. Wherever our new homes are located, we will always be an asset and not a detraction to the neighborhood. We believe in "paying-it-forward" and freely give what has been freely given to us. Some of our duties to the homeless are to sort and distribute clothing, make lunch sacks, and more lunch sacks and more lunch sacks (did I mention we make lunch sacks), go out and talk to our homeless friends if they wish, listen to them if they wish and minister to them if they want to hear. Most people simply want to be treated like a human being and we are honored to humbly serve them.

Our Ministry Outreach Team is alive and well at the Isaiah House and it is truly a blessing to our residents to be of service to anyone in need. Please let us know if we can help you or your organization in any way. Please contact Darrell Moulton at 713-227-1400, or email him at Darrell Moulton. God bless you and please pray for our Ministry Outreach Team!
